Congratulations to our amazing fifth-grade graduates! We are so proud of all that you have accomplished during your time at our school. 

As you begin this exciting new chapter, we know you will continue to learn, grow, and achieve great things. While we will miss seeing your smiling faces in our hallways, we can't wait to hear about all of your future successes.

As another school year comes to a close, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and deepest gratitude to the dedicated members of the Severna Park Elementary School family who are retiring. 

Ann Mangan, our beloved first-grade teacher, is retiring after 27 years of teaching. She has inspired countless young learners with her patience, kindness, and passion for education.

We also celebrate Katie McCord, our school counselor, who is retiring after 11 years at SPES. Her compassion, encouragement, and unwavering support have helped students grow both academically and emotionally.

A special thank you goes to Lisa Sykes, who is retiring after 11 years as a school secretary at SPES. Her friendly smile, organization, and willingness to help everyone who walked through the front office doors made our school a welcoming place for all.

Finally, we honor Charlotte Queen, who is retiring after more than 30 years at SPES! Her hard work and dedication as a custodian have helped keep our school safe, clean, and welcoming for generations of students and staff. She was honored with a special parade on her last trip on the ride-on floor cleaner!

Thank you for your incredible support with our World Cup–themed Field Day. From volunteering to run stations and cheering on teams to sending in sunscreen and LOTS of water, you made the day run smoothly and feel truly special. Of course, a big thank you to Mr. Wiles for planning and running another wonderful field day for SPES!

The students had a blast, showing great sportsmanship, working together and celebrating each other’s efforts. We saw so many smiles, high-fives, and moments of teamwork—exactly what we hoped for.

A heartfelt thank you to our school administration, staff and students for hosting a wonderful Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon to recognize the many parents and family members who generously give their time throughout the year. The student made decorations and thoughtful messages alongside the delicious lunch from Cafe Mezzanotte made everyone feel truly valued and appreciated.

A special thank you goes to Mrs. Longacre for coordinating the talented student musicians who performed during the luncheon. Their beautiful music created a warm and welcoming atmosphere and made the celebration even more memorable.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this event so special and to all of our volunteers whose dedication and support help make our school community thrive. Thank you for all that you do!

Although summer is still in full swing, it's already time to start planning for one of our school's most anticipated events—the Fall Festival!

The Fall Festival is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and its success depends on the support of our amazing parent volunteers. From organizing games and activities to coordinating food, decorations, sponsorships, and day-of-event logistics, there are many opportunities to get involved.

The earlier we begin planning, the more successful and enjoyable the event will be for our students, families, and community. Whether you can help lead a committee, assist with planning behind the scenes, or volunteer on the day of the festival, we'd love to have you on the team.
